Week # 2 7 1/2 Habits lesson

I enjoyed watching the "7 1/2 Habits" video, and it makes me think about how I approach learning. Always been a proponent of lifelong learning, I am constantly taking on projects for which I need to learn new skills - everything from scrapbooking to learning a new language to writing a family genealogical history. In fact, I am starting this Web 2.0 experience a bit late, because I was just learning Italian and just finished my final lesson today. [Just in time, since I am chaperoning a group of student to Italy, France, and Spain next week, and I needed to add Italian to the French and Spanish I already know, so that I can help the students with basics when we get there.]
My strong points are #1 and #2 - I have no trouble visualizing the end or goal when I start something, and I definitely take responsibility for my own learning, because I am always learning new things. #4 is not much of a problem for me, either. I can also gather tools that I need, and I am not afraid to use new technology. I am also immediately willing to teach others what I learn. #3 would be my next-to-weakest link, because I sometimes get frustrated, but definitely my absolute weakest is # 7 1/2.
I tend to be a workaholic, as shown by my recent summer activities: automating several elementary libraries in 8- or 9-hour daily blocks of time, learning Italian in the evenings, working in my own high school library, and keeping my family and house going. Even doing this course is so much fun that I almost feel guilty spending the time on it! My husband and family are always telling me that I need to relax and take it easy, but my idea of doing that is definitely different from theirs!
One of my goals for this course is to let myself "play" around and have fun with it.

Weeks #1 and #2 - Learning about and setting up a blog

Welcome, Readers, to the Good Books Blog. In this space, I will share my experiences with the Web 2.0 tutorials, as well as mentioning good books that I will personally recommend. Since this is my first attempt at blogging, I ask for your patience as well as your participation.
I am excited about the opportunities that Web 2.0 offers, and I am eager to get started!
